One Day Without Shoes 2013... Wow!

From participating in our fully packed out Style Your Sole Workshop with MessyMsxi, to taking off your shoes so gamely and having them painted - you gave a nod in the right direction in helping us make this worldwide initiative come alive. If you didn't make it, we wished you could have been there.

Style Your (TOMS) Sole with MessyMsxi

We have been fans of illustrator extraordinaire MessyMsxi for awhile now (seriously, have you seen her Instagram shots?), and we are thrilled to have her headline our Style Your Sole workshop with TOMS this coming Tuesday (16 April) at Orchard 22.

We are throwing Style Your Sole in conjunction with One Day Without Shoes, and the best part of this is - You don't have to go barefoot to be a part of this worldwide movement. In this 1 hour workshop, MessyMsxi will guide you through simple masking techniques to come up with your very own one-of-a-kind patterns, or teach you how to transform your TOMS into your favourite "oxford" shoes. Time to give your rusty imagination a big ol stretch! You can purchase a pair of TOMS on that very day (we promise a restock!), or don't be shy to bring your old TOMS down. Like they say, old is gold.

Currently on at Madnest - MessyMsxi x Shentonisa for ‘The Unusual Suspects’ - A first-of-its-kind exhibition that pairs local street-style photographers with notable illustrators of their choice. Here, personal traits, habits, dreams and fears are portrayed in a lighthearted and whimsical fashion - a stark contrast to the severity and sombriety of the corporate landscape they are all too familiar with.


MessyMsxi's Breakfast Barter is a interactive concept, whereby visitors can draw their ideal breakfast or a breakfast representation on the standard template which she has prepared, in exchange for one of her breakfast postcard. She has held 3 of such barters thus far!

In celebration of ONE DAY WITHOUT SHOES happening all over the world on April 10..

Happening for the first time ever in Singapore - Why are we not wearing shoes on April 10? ONE DAY WITHOUT SHOES, an annual movement campaigned by TOMS, is a day where individuals all over the world go without shoes (to the streets, to school, to work) to raise awareness for the millions of children all over the world who live without proper footwear - leaving them highly at risk to injury and disease every day.

Most importantly, we're inviting you to put yourself in someone else's shoes, just for a couple of minutes that day.



~ ~ Event Itinerary ~ ~
+ Shipment arrival of TOMS Classic Canvas restocks for both Men & Ladies. With every pair your purchase, another goes to a child in need. One for One.

+ Free tickets to a Private Screening of For Tomorrow : The Toms Story (an award winning documentary of their first shoe drop in Argentina). Screening happens the very same evening, with slots at 7 and 8pm (Runtime : 35 minutes). We’ve booked an entire cinema at Cineleisure Cineplex, and tickets are available for collection at Rockstar on April 10 itself. Whether you are a TOMS fan or not, this is a film worth catching. + Leave a Mark. We are collecting photos, shoutouts and signatures of every single participant that day. We'd love if you could bring a photo, or leave a shoutout to the TOMS Headquarters in our book - something for us to remember you by. We will be sending this compilation to the TOMS HQ after the event.

+ All the supporting materials you'd need if you're continuing the ODWS movement around town : Takeaway info cards (so you'll be best prepared to handle curious questions and weird stares), stickers, tattoos, feet painting and more...
